Some coffee drinkers claim it causes anxiety. Here's what the science says | Salon.com

“It varies from individual to individual, but consuming more than your normal amount of caffeine could make you feel nervous, anxious, irritable or jittery, and may cause excessive urine production or irregular heartbeat. And for those who have anxiety or insomnia, it could worsen their symptoms.”

  • Flashback Friday: Coffee & Artery Function | NutritionFacts.org

Unfiltered coffee raises cholesterol levels, BUT filtered coffee does not affect cholesterol. Whew! Caffeinated coffee reduces elasticity of blood vessels (ability to dilate), BUT decaf coffee had no effect on vessel elasticity. These were based on 1 cup. BUT two cups of decaf had a beneficial effect on vessel elasticity.

Green and black tea boosts arterial elasticity. Caffeine in coffee impairs coronary artery flow during exercise, BUT caffeine in tea improved coronary blood flow during exercise. BUT addition of milk will undermine the benefit.

One commentor said the chemical in tea is not caffeine molecule. Need to confirm.

What the Dairy Industry Doesn't Want You to Know - Neal Barnard MD - FULL TALK - YouTube

Wow! Clear argument that dairy is addictive. Instead of digestion breaking dairy protein into amino acids, some are absorbed as protein chains, and some of those chains are chemically similar to addictive morphine. Fascinating. It keeps the babies (and humans consuming dairy) coming for more. Interesting argument.
